Industrial Tube & Steel Corporation has been a rectangular tubing supplier in A513 (mechanical) and A500 (structural) grades, in a range of sizes and wall thicknesses, for over 65 years. A500 rectangular structural tubing is used in construction, buildings, towers, and sign support applications, but also in trailers and structural fabrications. A513 mechanical carbon steel rectangular tube is frequently used in the transportation, solar, appliance, and agriculture industries, as well as in many other types of machinery ranging from bases to supports. All ODs below 2" with a wall thickness less than .120 inch are typically manufactured as ASTM A-513. Sizes 2" and above with a wall thickness of .120 inch and heavier are typically manufactured to ASTM A-500.

The rectangular structural tube form increases material efficiency by providing strength and durability while using the least amount of material. Because of this efficient use of resources, rectangular tubes are a cost-effective solution for building and industrial operations.
Due to the manufacturing process required in producing the tubing, square tubes are often more cheap than other forms. This tubular form needs less energy and work to create. As a result, the tube is less expensive yet ultimately stronger.
Round tubes are well-known for their strength and longevity, but square tubes are actually stronger. The increased strength is related to the shape and construction of the tubes.
Rectangular tubes may be simply produced and tailored to fit the needs of unique projects. They can be cut, welded, bent, drilled, and molded into a variety of forms, allowing them to be seamlessly integrated into complicated constructions. Fabrication ease saves time and money throughout the building or production process.
Because of its resistance to corrosion, discoloration, and rust, high-strength stainless steel rectangular tube is well-suited for various industries.
Rectangular tubes are often formed of metals such as steel or aluminum, which are both highly recyclable. Rectangular structural tubing helps the circular economy by lowering the need for new raw materials and reducing trash transported to landfills.
