More About Cast Iron Dura-Bar®
Sand casting produces parts which are beautifully uniform, but not without problems. They might have surface flaws, cracks, and porosity, therefore creating a high rejection rate. Machining those parts from Dura-Bar®, a continuously cast iron bar, may be the solution. As the exclusive area distributor for Wells Manufacturing, we currently supply Dura-Bar® in 5/8" to 20" diameters, in 6', 12' and production cut lengths to customers who are using it successfully for applications such as hydraulic and pneumatic equipment components, pistons, cylinders, bushings, sleeves, bearings, gears, cams, valve parts, machine tool components, and glass molding equipment. If your sand cast parts aren't on this list, maybe they should be. We'd be happy to discuss it and recommend the Dura-Bar®, Dura-Tube®, Dura-Shape®, or Dura-Flat® most appropriate.
